1.What is browser-safe Color Pallette/ Web-safe pallette.
It is the list of colors that are safe to use on different web browsers ‘e.g firefox, I.E, Safari’ and on Diff color Bit screens ‘e.g 8 bit 16 bit 32bit’ that when it displays, the color will be same and will not dither no matter displayed on which kind of browser or screen.
2. Is it relevant in today’s context? Why?
Not really. This is because, computers (screen/graphics) and browsers are very advanced which allow them to project out most colors, and there are not much people who are still using the 8bit monitors in the present. Even so I personally think we should still use it, just to be sure.
3.What are the common fonts face found on PC & MAC?
The common font face that can be found on PC & MAC would be Arial, Verdana, Impact, Times New Romans and more.
4.What is Page Loading Time, and how does it influence your design.
It is the time taken for a page to be fully loaded showing every details in any web site. It influence me in a way that, whenever I design a site, I must bear in mind that the designs I use will not take up too much time for the site to load as it will waste a lot of precious time.
5. Thoughts on the Web Design Process article.
After reading the article, I feel that it has broaden my knowledge in how to tackle web design.
It has stated out useful step by step ways in how to design a good web site be it design wise or usage of the web site. By use the step by step method, I can be more confident in making a web site instead of being clueless about what should i do first, did I screw this up or messed that up. By doing everything step by step like how all the authors in the articles did, I can work in a ‘safer’ environment, making sure all that I do is according to plan, even if mistakes were to appear, i will be able to go back and solve it.
Some of the articles also inspired me in designs. As a fan of pictures and digital art, I’ve always liked to use alot of picture in my designs, but after reading the articles, I have realized, to make a beautiful web design, using little pictures, your design can also be very appealing. The main factor is to be able to use your pictures, fonts and colors to compliment each other and make them look good.
I have also learned that, when designing a website, not only must it look good, it must be able to serve it’s main purpose, other wise why create it at all? For example, If we design a very good looking web site, yet the links in the site are all broken, it would beat the purpose of creating the site. So when designing a site, we must make sure it is able to serve it’s purpose, giving all the information that is is needed to it’s viewer. This is also where maintenance comes in. There should be maintenance to keep the website up, so that nothing will go wrong, and every one will enjoy visiting/using the site.
